Talya Gould At Work
Talya Gould in the studio in San Francisco

Talya Gould first walked into a glassblowing studio as a young teenager at summer camp. With barely enough arm muscle or coordination to make anything bigger than drinking glass, she was hooked.

More than a decade later, glassblowing is Talya's favorite creative outlet. The intensity and heat in the studio rejuvenate her. She's built up a little more muscle, and with practice came the coordination she needed to execute her designs of functional glass pieces that impress with their clean lines and use of colors.

Talya, now settled in San Francisco, currently blows glass at Public Glass, the city's center for creation and education in glass, where she also has assistant taught. Previously, she took classes and taught at Urban Glass in her native Brooklyn, and she took classes at Hot Soup in Philadelphia. But she has a special place in her heart for the outdoor studio at Buck's Rock Summer Camp where she got her start working with hot glass and teaching.

She invites you to view her glass on this website, but also to try glassblowing for yourself if you are curious what it's all about.
